Avenue des Champs-Élysées
The
triumphal avenue, where all France’s great parades, from July 14th to the finish
of the Tour de France, are held.
Victory parades, too. So far, the French have paraded
their armies down here and through the Arch
in 1918 and 1945, the Germans in 1870 and 1940.
